SYNOPSIS

Monday at 06:00 UTC the flow over Europe is rather complex. A ridge is located over northern Europe, with high pressure over the northern Baltic Sea. Two low pressure areas are located over the Bay of Biscay and over Tunisia. A small low pressure system is located over southern Poland. The air over most of central Europe is more or less neutrally stratified for a moist process (i.e. indifferent) with an inversion around 800 to 600 hPa observed as far east as northeast Poland and as far west as Bordeaux, France.

DISCUSSION

Slight rising motion and is expected to help create sufficient instability over most of Poland and the W Ukraine for thunderstorms toinitiate. Over Northern Germany cloudiness under the aformentioned inversion will - in contrast with the GFS prediction- likely prevent this from happening. Further south, diurnal heating should be sufficient for scattered storms to develop.
