SYNOPSIS

Thunderstorms are quite unlikely at any given point in the forecast area.

Monday at 06:00 UTC... at mid levels a longwave trough extends from central Scandinavia westward. A shortwave trough is expected to move southward over the North Sea, asociated with convective storms. The instability may be large and deep enough to produce some local lightning strikes, but coverage should be low.

Downstream, another major mid-level trough extends roughly from the Crimean Peninsula to northeastern Libya. An unstable air-mass ahead of the system should have left the forecast area by Monday 06:00.

Finally, a little lightning cannot be excluded during the last hours as some instability develops over the northwestern Mediterranean.

Elsewhere, no lightning is forecast.
